Fave moment of the night

Matt the Bartender's most awesomely awesome dance move: slithering on his belly between my legs. Yowza! Runner-up: almost horking up my shot.* Ick! Thanks for the water, Erica! Lots of other runners-up as well: Greg's new classic "America," singing "Let's hear it for the boy" with Lisa, JJ and "Greatest love" (such drama!), "We built this city" with Dorotha and Jeremy's impromptu radio broadcasting, Tara on stage and singing! yay!, Evan on stage and pretending to sing, the rest of the boy band, being Taylor Dayne with Angela, Jeff rocking my world as always, and Tiffany's pervie "Greased lightening," Gary's Nelly interpretation, Jerry's "You are so beautiful" again (I've now had it sung to me twice!), so glad we still got to hear "Dark lady" and clap thanks to Shelli, Ernie's never-ending photojournalism...Argh! I know I am leaving some good ones out!

Anyway, what was your fave moment?

And, one last thing, I just have to say I had SO MUCH FUN and everyone was some awesomely awesome and sweet and made me feel like such a superstar. What a nice way to say goodbye!

BTW, Belle's baton (I am a bad linker, you can find her through Dorotha's blog on the sidebar): Not very much music is actually on my computer. Dial-up slows me down. Last CD I bought: Jamie Cullum's "Twentysomething." Like the voice. Currently listening to: Rufus featuring Shaka Khan "Sweet thing." Love it! Wish Angela would sing it at the Kid b/c I do NOT have the pipes! Maybe a treat for me when I visit in June, Angie? 5 songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me... hmmm...whatever I sing at the Kid, maybe? Gotta practice, you know?

*My new fave word for barf, though I'm not sure the "up" was necessary. Jon, since hork was your suggestion, what do you think?

I know, I know

I never did the recap. Sorry. Or maybe not. I am just too busy.

But you need to know this: my FINAL (sort of) careyoke performance will be on Tuesday, May 24th. Be there! Have lists of songs to sing! Wear something ridiculous! Get sloshed a) for your birthday, b) in preparation for your thesis defense, c) in preparation for your diss proposal defense, d) b/c you are leaving Madison (sooner or later), and/or e) just b/c that's what you do at the Kid.

Oh, one last thing, I am supposed to be doing a blog poll about the song that we have to sing with Matt the DJ - who won't be able to make it to the Kid until after 11, but probably will be able to pull a few strings to move his song up in the queue. Anyway, I will just take suggestions in the comments rather than do a poll at the moment. I need a little outside inspiration for this!

We love the Kid

Ok, dudes. It was a great night - once we scared away the annoying people who somehow got there before us (or some of us). And I'm sorry, but the recap is going to take a while. That whole diss proposal thing has to come first...as in, it's really due tomorrow, but we'll see. Anyway, thanks, everybody - especially the awesome Kid Krew*, for making my second to last careyoke** a fantastic one!

*Who did not *LOVE* the Eminem-Dre duet by Jeff and Matt the DJ (who still is Matt the DJ even though he wasn't the DJ last night)? And 99 Luftballoons with Shelley and Erica? Both awesomely awesome! Next time we'll have to get Matt the Bartender on stage! Perhaps we're due for a blog poll...

**Ok, you all know I am going to make you go to the Kid every time I am in town to visit. With that in mind, let's start planning for some time the week of June 20th. Yes, I am coming back less than a month after I leave. I just love you too much.

We're going to be at the Kid, Monday, May 9th at 8:15pm!

So, this is both a warning and an invitation. Angela suggested it. She is so smart! We are warning you, dear Matt the Bartender and the rest of the Kid Krew, that we're storming the Kid on Monday night. Have the books and the booze ready! And we are inviting everyone who dares to check my blog on occasion to join us for an evening of singing, dancing, and maybe drinking. Maybe. Anyway, I am sure you have something to celebrate. Or will soon have something to celebrate. There's nothing wrong with a little preeptive celebrating! And where better to do that than at the Kid? Beats me.
